Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day, on June 24th, marks the start of summer. In and around Québec City, you’ll find lots of ways to celebrate. Here’s how to make the most of the holiday:
Annual Saint-Jean Baptiste Show on the Plains of Abraham

Join the thousands of people heading to the Plains of Abraham for the big June 23 Show celebrating Québec’s culture, French language, and identity. The line‑up includes: Coeur de pirate, Loud, Yann Perreau, Alex Nevsky, Marc Dupré, Ludovic Bourgeois, and much more.
Activities for the whole family will be offered from noon in front of the Voltigeurs de Québec Armoury (805, Avenue Wilfrid-Laurier).
More Things to Do
- Take a walk through the Old City and Saint-Roch neighbourhood to find Passages insolites (Unusual Passages), a public art walk made up with 15 lighthearted, intriguing installations.
- This long weekend is the perfect opportunity to eat on the most beautiful terraces and discover the region by bike on the bike paths.
- Wrap up the weekend with a great pint at one of the many local microbreweries.
